Lehrmann, Powell Qualify for NCAA Zones on Platform

PRINCETON, N.J.—Harvard freshmen Teagan Lehrmann and Brittany Powell qualified for the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships with their performances Sunday in the platform competition of the Princeton Diving Invitational.

Lehrmann placed third in the event with 238.05 points, and Powell was fourth with 231.40. Boston University's Melinda Matyas won the event with 259.85. All four competing divers qualified for the zone meet, to be held March 12-14 at Rutgers.

The Crimson also had a strong showing against some of the Ivy League's top divers in Saturday's springboard events. Harvard had three of the top five finishers in both women's events. Jenny Reese was the runner-up in the one-meter with 262.20 points, about seven points behind winner Carolyn Littlefield of Princeton. Powell placed fourth with 224.55, and Leslie Rea was fifth with 220.27

In the three-meter, Rea took third with 248.70 points, missing second place by just 1.12. Reese was fourth with 244.88, and Courtland Kelly placed fifth with 240.45.
