The Harvard women's tennis team travels to the Midwest to
face Purdue, Feb. 27, and No. 39 Illinois, Feb. 28.

Last Time Out
The Crimson placed third in the ECAC Indoor Championship by
defeating Princeton, 4-2, Feb. 14. Harvard cruised past Cornell,
6-1, in the opening round of the tournament before falling to Yale,
6-1, in the second round match.
In the third place match, Princeton won the doubles point with
wins in the No. 1 and 3 match. Harvard picked up four wins in
singles play to claim the match victory. Holly Cao remained
undefeated at the No. 1 position with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Hilary
Bartlett. Hideko Tachibana defeated Melissa Saiontz, 6-2, 7-6 (7-2)
in the No. 2 match. Samantha Rosekrans and Sophie Chang won the No.
4 and 5 matches, respectively.
Scouting the Crimson
Harvard holds a 5-2 overall record entering the weekend. The team
holds a 25-11 singles record in dual play, with Holly Cao holding a
perfect 5-0 mark in the No. 1 position. At No. 2, Hideko Tachibana
stands 5-1, while Kristin Norton is 4-2 in No. 3 play.
In doubles play, the pair of Cao and Rosekeans hold a 3-4 record
in the No. 1 postion, while Norton and Tachibana are 2-3 in the No.
2 spot. In the No. 3 position, Chang and Gridley are 3-2.
Scouting the Boilermakers
The Boilermakers are undefeated on the season, sporting a perfect
7-0 record. They face the Oregon Ducks Friday night before hosting
the Crimson on Saturday.
Jennifer Rabot and Bhavani Tirumurti both boast unbeaten 7-0
records in dual play, Rabot in the No. 2 spot and Tirumurti at the
No. 3 position. Anna Dushinka (No. 4), Michell Sammons (No. 1) and
Imogen Golder (No. 5) are all 6-1 in their respective positions in
dual play.
The duo of Rabot and Sammons are undefeated at the No. 1 doubles
spot, while Golder and Tirumurti are 5-2 in the No. 3 position.
Scouting the No. 39 Illini
Illinois stands 3-5 on the season, with their five losses coming
at the hands of nationally ranked opponents. The team hosts
Northwestern on Friday night before hosting the Crimson on
Sunday.
Rachel White is 2-6 in the No. 1 position in dual matches while
Meghan Fudge holds a 6-2 record at the No. 2 position. The
remaining four positions have been inconsistent, with multiple
players getting turns in the lineup. Three players have split time
at the No. 3 position and have earned a 4-4 record in dual play.
Five players have combined for a 6-2 record in the No. 4 spot,
while Illinois is 3-5 in the No. 5 position and 5-1 in No. 6
matches.
In doubles action, the duo of Marisa Lambropoulos and White hold a
perfect 2-0 record at the No. 1 spot, while Lambroppoulos and
Chelcie Abajian are 2-1 at the No. 2 spot.
