The Harvard men's basketball team as accepted an
invitation to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament (CIT), marking the
Crimson's first postseason tournament appearance since the
1945-46 NCAA season. The Crimson will travel to Appalachian State
for a Wednesday night game in Boone, N.C.
Harvard finished the regular season at 21-7 overall and 10-4 in
the Ivy League, setting numerous program records including wins
(21), non-conference wins (11), home wins (11) and road/neutral
wins (10).
Appalachian State finished 22-12 overall on the season and 13-5
and first place in the Southern Conference's Northern
division. The Mountaineers lost to Wofford, 56-51, in the
championship game of their conference tournament
Both programs will be searching for their first postseason

The CIT is in its second year of existence. Old Dominion won the
inaugural tournament, defeating Bradley 68-62 last season. A total
of 16 teams are scheduled to compete in the tournament with the
first three rounds being conducted on campus sites. Following the
first round games on March 16-18, the quarterfinals are set for
March 22. The semifinals are March 24-25 and the final is on March
30. The format for all rounds is single-elimination and all games
will be on campus sites. The championship of the tournament is
scheduled to be played at the highest remaining seed.
