USTFCCCA Men's All-Academic Release

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Three members of the Harvard cross country team have attained USTFCCCA All-Academic status, the organization announced Monday. Sophomore Kailyn Kuzmuk and junior Claire Richardson of the women's team and junior Dan Chenoweth of the men's team earned the award for their efforts during the 2009 cross country season.

The award marks the third time that Richardson and Chenoweth have been recognized by the organization. Richardson, a neurobiology concentrator, had a stellar cross country season, taking the title at the HYP meet and qualifying for the NCAA Championships. Chenoweth, a sociology concentrator, also took the title at the HYP meet and posted his second consecutive top-45 finish at the NCAA Championships. Chenoweth was one of 58 Division I male athletes given All-Academic status in 2009-10. Kuzmuk earned her first All-Academic accolade after a solid sophomore campaign where she turned in Harvard's top performance at the NCAA Championships. Kuzmuk and Richardson joined 102 other female athletes as All-Academic honorees.

The award honors those student-athletes who have succeeded both academically and athletically. To be eligible for the award a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.25 cumulative grade point average and must finish among the top 15 finishers (or top 10 percent) of the field at their respective NCAA regional meet.
