2010-11 Women's Swimming and Diving
Schedule
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's
swimming and diving team announced its 2010-11 schedule Wednesday.
The Crimson will host two home meets over the course of the season,
while participating in multi-team meets in New Jersey and
Georgia.
Harvard opens its season with a tri-meet Nov. 12, squaring off
against Cornell and Dartmouth in Hanover, N.H. The following
Friday, Harvard travels to New York City to take on conference foe
Columbia. The Crimson wraps up the 2010 portion of its schedule
with the Georgia Invitational Dec. 3-5, where it will face Kansas,
Virginia, Auburn, Penn State, Minnesota and defending SEC champion
Georgia in a three-day event. Four of the six teams the Crimson
will face finished the 2009-10 season ranked in the top 15
nationally, including the Bulldogs who ended the season in the top
position.
Training trips to Hawaii and St. Croix will help the Crimson
stay sharp for its first meet of 2011, a dual meet at Brown Jan.
14. The following weekend, Harvard will travel to New Jersey to
take part in the World College Conference Carnival, hosted by
Rutgers Jan. 21-22, and will wrap up the weekend by hosting Penn
Jan. 23. The annual HYP meet is slated for Jan. 28, and will be
hosted by Yale. Northeastern comes to Cambridge Feb. 11 for a
non-conference dual meet to wrap up the regular season.
Princeton plays host to the 2011 Ivy League Championships Feb.
24-26. Harvard looks to reclaim the league crown after the Tigers
edged the Crimson for the title in Cambridge last winter. The NCAA
Zone Diving Championships will take place March 11-12, at Navy and
the 2011 NCAA Championships are slated for March 17-20 at
Texas.
