CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Carolyn Malloy recorded two goals and an assist in the first half to lead Northeastern to a 4-0 defeat of the Harvard field hockey team Wednesday evening at Jordan Field.

Cynthia Tassopoulos matched a season high with 11 saves for the Crimson (2-5), but Malloy scored twice in a three-minute span to help the Huskies (4-4) pull away.

After play went back and forth with only one combined shot on goal in the opening 10 minutes, Northeastern's Kaela Barker converted a penalty corner, with Anne-Rieke Stuhlmann and Malloy assisting, at 12:44 of the opening half.

Malloy then added the two quick goals. She batted in a pass from Lindsay Bennett after Crystal Poland's pass set them up for a two-on-one break. Malloy then dove to redirect in a Meg Sweeney pass from outside the circle on the right side.

Harvard regrouped in the second half, with an Emma Keller redirection and a Georgia McGillivray penalty corner shot forcing saves by Lizzie Priest. Poland had the period's only goal, however, knocking in the ball after a feed across the front of the goal from Bennett.

Each team had three penalty corners in the second half, and Northeastern logged six for the game. The Huskies had an 8-4 shots edge after halftime and a 19-5 advantage overall.
