CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Freshman guard Laurent Rivard of the Harvard men's basketball team has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the third time.
The 6-5 rookie from Saint-Bruno, Que., scored all 16 of his points in the second half in the Crimson's 67-62 win at George Washington Saturday. He connected on 4-of-6 shots from the field and was 3-of-4 from beyond the arc, as the Crimson earned its fifth straight victory and improved to 12-3 on the season.
Rivard also made 5-of-7 free throws and grabbed three rebounds in 26 minutes, as the Crimson came back from a nine-point deficit in the second half against the Colonials.
Rivard, who stands eighth in the nation in free-throw shooting (.930) leads all Ivy freshman in scoring at 12.5 points per game. He was also tabbed Ivy Rookie of the Week Dec. 6 and Jan. 3.
