CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Harvard men's water
polo team dropped an 18-9 decision to Brown Saturday night moving
the Crimson to tomorrow's third-place game at the Collegiate Water
Polo Association (CWPA) Northern Division Championship.
Earlier, the Crimson beat MIT, 11-10 in overtime, to advance to
the semifinal with Brown. Harvard has already secured a spot at the
CWPA Eastern Championship because the Crimson will finish in no
worse than fourth place.
Max
Murphy and Mike Katzer had
their second multiple-goal games of the day as each netted two
scores. Evan Zepfel
also added two goals in the loss.
Alexandre
Popp, who made 13 saves in Harvard first round win over MIT,
had another 13-save performance. Popp also contributed two assists
in the nightcap.
Harvard will meet No. 4 seed Iona in the tournament's
third-place game tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. The Gaels downed
the Crimson, 13-4, on Sept. 24 in the teams' lone meeting this
season.
