Becky Christensen recorded her highest finish ever at a
USATF National Championship meet (David Silverman).
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Former Harvard track and field
standout Becky Christensen '09 turned in a stellar
performance at the 2011 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships,
notching a second-place finish in the high jump competition at the
meet. The result represents Christensen's best finish at a
USATF National Championship meet in her career.
Christensen recorded a final clearance of 1.83 meters
(6'0”) to take second in the high jump. She finished
just 0.3 meters behind teammate Epley Bullock, who was the lone
competitor to clear 1.86 meters (6'1.25”) in the
competition. Both Christensen and Bullock represented team RIADHA
at the meet, a philanthropic organization focusing on improving
human health worldwide while supporting track and field
athletes.
The Celina, Texas native was a six-time Ivy-League Champion and
four-time All-American in the high jump during her time at Harvard.
She has been competing at the international level since 2008,
recording a second-place finish at the 2008 North America, Central
American and Caribbean Under-23 Championships in Toluca, Mexico, in
her first international competition. Christensen set her personal
best mark of 1.91 meters at the 2009 indoor HYP meet during her
senior year in Cambridge.
