CAMBRIDGE,
Mass. – Harvard athletics was well represented among
this year's Thomas Temple '19 Hoopes Prize awards for outstanding
senior theses or research projects.
Justin Davidson of the men's swimming and diving, Yunsoo Kim of
women's fencing, Cara Sprague of women's Nordic skiing and John
Stokes, Quincy Bock and Megan Wareham of the sailing team were all
honored for their work.
The Hoopes prize is an annual award presented to a number of
Harvard undergraduates that have projects nominated. It is
considered to be one of the highest academic commendations the
University gives to undergraduates. The award—which is funded
by the estate of Thomas T. Hoopes '19—comes with a
prize of $4,000 for student recipients and $1,000 for their
advisers.
Davidson's senior thesis was entitled "Gridlocked: Peter
Eisenman in Berlin," and the Haverford, Pa., native was nominated
by two of his professors.
Bock's submission was entitled "Under the See."
Kim's project was entitled "A conserved cytoplasmic tyrosine
kinase functions in the transport of silencing RNA between C.
elegans cells."
Sprague's submission was entitled "Dust Off: The Effect of the
Vietnam War on the Specialization of Emergency Medicine in
America."

Checking, the Structural Ergative, and the Great Agreement
Puzzle."
