Harvard
The Crimson's 3-3 record marks its best start in
four years. Last week, Harvard went 2-2 at the Princeton
Invitational with wins over George Washington, 13-12 (OT), and
Fordham, 8-6, while dropping matches to No. 17 Princeton, 13-2, and
Johns Hopkins, 14-6.
Junior Max Eliot and freshman Max Murphy sparked the Crimson to
two wins. Eliot, who was named Northern Division Player of the
Week, added to his team leading 11 goals with five against George
Washington, including the game-winner with 1:36 remaining in
overtime. Murphy took advantage of his first career start by
netting a hat trick in Harvard's come-from-behind win over
Fordham.
Bucknell
The Bison enter the tournament with an undefeated record
after sweeping Gannon, 21-6, and No. 11 St. Francis, 16-10, at the
Navy Labor Day Open Sept. 3-4. Bucknell was forced to cancel its
home opening Bison Invitational as rainy weather and flood
conditions threatened the Central Pennsylvania area.
Alex Nowlin leads the Bison's high scoring offense with
seven goals and eight assists through the first two games. Brian
Barron follows with eight goals and four assists.
Mercyhurst
Mercyhurst also boasts a perfect record after five
contests this fall. Brett Luehmann, a returning CWPA Division II
All-American, leads the Laker's with 10 assists and 14
steals, while also adding 12 goals. Danilo Svorcan has found the
back of the net 13 times to lead the Mercyhurst squad.
Navy
The U.S. Naval Academy is sending its 'B'
team to the North-South Tournament. Navy's 'A'
squad, which is ranked No. 15 by the CWPA, will be traveling to
California for eight games Sept 16-18.
