Crimson to a 1-1 record at the MIT Invitational (Gil

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard
men's water polo team split two games at the MIT Invitational
in Cambridge, Mass. Saturday. The Crimson downed MIT, 13-5, in the
invitational's opening game at 9 a.m. before falling to No.
17 Cal Baptist, 13-9, at 4 p.m.
The Crimson used a team effort to top the host Engineers in the
morning contest. Luka Babic, Kevin DiSilvestro, Max Eliot, William
Roller and Evan Zepfel each netted two goals. DiSilvestro added
three assists.
Late mistakes haunted Harvard during the afternoon loss to Cal
Baptist. Eliot and Max Murphy found the back of the net twice for
the Crimson.
Alexandre Popp led a strong Crimson defensive effort throughout
the day. Popp made 18 saves including 13 during the matinee.
Harvard continues the 2011 campaign with the Princeton
Invitational Sept. 10-11. The Crimson will face George Washington,
Johns Hopkins and Fordham as well as the host Tigers.
