BOSTON – Harvard men's basketball head coach Tommy Amaker, along with co-captains Steve Moundou-Missi and Siyani Chambers, met with members of the media on the parquet floor of TD Garden Wednesday morning at the 2014 Massachusetts Basketball Media Day.
The event gave Amaker, Moundou-Missi and Chambers an opportunity to discuss the 2014-15 season, as well as the upcoming Coaches vs. Cancer Tripleheader, also being hosted at TD Garden Nov. 16. Harvard will face Holy Cross in the nightcap at 5:30 p.m. following matchups pitting Boston University against Northeastern (12:30 p.m.) and Boston College against UMass (3 p.m.). A portion of the proceeds from the tripleheader will benefit the American Cancer Society's Coaches vs. Cancer initiative.
Several media outlets were in attendance on Wednesday as the Crimson trio spent more than an hour meeting with reporters. The morning began with an address from Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer and eight-time NBA Champion Tommy Heinsohn, and was followed by brief opening statements from each head coach. Togo Palazzi, a six-year NBA veteran and former Celtic in his own right, also addressed the crowd to speak about the Coaches vs. Cancer Shootout Challenge.
In addition to media day at the Garden, Amaker also took part in the 2014 Ivy League Preseason Media Teleconference Wednesday morning. To listen to the entire teleconference, click here.
