CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men's cross country team will wrap up its 2014 season this Saturday, sending junior Thomas Purnell to the NCAA Championships in Indiana, while the rest of the team will be in action at the IC4A Championships in New York.

For the second straight year, Purnell will be competing at the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Indiana. Purnell competed at the 2013 event, as a part of the Crimson squad that qualified as a team for the first time since 1979.
This season, Purnell paced Harvard with a 17th-place finish at the NCAA Northeast Regional Meet, which earned him an individual selection by the NCAA to the Championship meet this Saturday. Wabash Valley Family Sports Center in Terre Haute is the host site, while Indiana State is the host school.
The men's race is slated for a 1 p.m. start time.
IC4A Championships
Fordham University is serving as the co-hosts for the 2014 IC4A Championships, which will be run at the familiar Van Cortlandt Park in Riverdale, New York. The men's 8K race is scheduled to begin at 10:45 a.m.
Last Time Out
Led by Purnell's 17th-place showing, the Harvard men's cross team placed sixth at the NCAA Northeast Regional at Van Cortlandt Park on November 14. Senior Will Geiken also had a solid outing for the Crimson, placing 25th overall. Chris Allen, Nephat Maritim and Daniel Milechman rounded out Harvard's top-five, all finishing in the top-51.
