ALBANY, N.Y. – On Tuesday, Sept. 23, the ECAC announced the results of the preseason coaches' and media polls, as well as the selections to its all-conference teams. Standout junior forward Jimmy Vesey earned a spot on the Coaches' Preseason All-ECAC Team, with the coaches picking Harvard to finish ninth, while the ECAC Hockey Media Association slotted the Crimson 10th in the respective preseason polls.
In 2013-14, Vesey posted a team-high 13 goals on his way to earning a spot on the All-Ivy League second team. As a freshman in 2012-13, he was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Year and garnered a spot on the ECAC All-Rookie Team. In each of his two seasons in Cambridge, Vesey has been named a Walter Brown Award candidate.
In the Coaches' Preseason Poll, Harvard picked up 50 points, slotting ninth. Colgate earned the top spot with 117 points and seven first-place votes. Union and Cornell wrapped up the top three spots, receiving four and one first-place votes, respectively.
The media chose the Crimson one spot lower in its poll, placing Harvard 10th. Colgate and Union were also selected as the top two teams by the media, with Quinnipiac jumping Cornell and Yale for the third spot.
