Storyline
The Harvard wrestling team opens its home slate by facing Ivy League and EIWA rival No. 7 Cornell at the MAC Saturday at 1 p.m.
The Crimson sits at 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the EIWA, while the Big Red enters the week with a 6-1 mark overall (0-0 EIWA). Saturday's match will be shown live on the Ivy League Digital Network with Bill Spaulding having the call.
Series History
Saturday's match will mark the 61st dual meet between Harvard and Cornell. The Crimson trails the all-time series, 51-9, and is looking to snap a 13-match losing streak to the Big Red.
Last Time Out
In its first dual action of the year, Harvard went 1-2 last week on the road, defeating VMI, 31-12, but falling to Maryland, 21-18, and American, 22-19.
Todd Preston (141 lbs.) and Josef Johnson (174 lbs.) went 3-0, while James Fox (197 lbs.) owned a 2-0 mark on the weekend to lead the Crimson.

Freshmen Additions
Jay Weiss, The David G. Bunning '88 Head Coach for Harvard Wrestling, welcomes the addition of nine freshmen to the Harvard roster for the 2014-15 academic year: Kanon Dean, Angus Cowell, Austin Gobbo, Josef Johnson,Spencer Kiehm, Logan Kirby, Mason Miller, Rico Stormer and Tyler Tarsi. The nine newcomers hail from six different states and two countries, and will add immediate depth to five weight classes.
Leadership
Senior James Fox (197 lbs.), a two-time All-Ivy League selection, and junior Todd Preston (141 lbs.), last year's EIWA champion, were elected by their teammates to serve as captains for the Crimson this season. Preston was also a second-team All-Ivy pick as a sophomore last year.
Well Rounded Experience
The Harvard wrestling team was recognized as the top academic program in the country in 2013-14, marking the fourth time in five years the honor has been bestowed upon the Crimson. Under the tutelage of head coach Jay Weiss, Harvard combined for a 3.3657 GPA to claim the top spot on the list once again, marking the 11th time since the award's inception that Harvard has landed in the top 10.
