Colton was selected for the third consecutive season while Harrison earned his first nod to the ACWPC All-America team (Paul Rutherford/Catharyn Hayne).
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – Seniors Joey Colton and Noah Harrison have been named to the 2016 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-America team after helping guide the Crimson to its most successful season in program history.
Colton becomes the first student-athlete in Harvard men's water polo history to earn All-America honors for the third-straight season as he was selected to the ACWPC All-America third team after consecutive honorable mentions in 2014 and 2015. Harrison garnered his first All-America recognition as he earned honorable mention.
The duo marks the second time in Harvard water polo history that two Crimson have earned All-America status in the same season, matching the feat from Colton and Ben Zepfel '16 last year.
Colton and Harrison were instrumental to Harvard's Final Four run, as the two seniors combined to lead the Crimson in goals, assists, steals and field blocks. Colton recorded 76 assists, while Harrison totaled 85 goals and showed his defensive prowess by leading the Crimson with 61 steals and 27 field blocks. Colton also added 43 scores of his own to go along with 26 assists and 12 field blocks, and Harrison tallied 37 assists on the year.
The Crimson finished the 2016 campaign with a mark of 27-7, the best in program history. Harvard made its first-ever NCAA Championship appearance and went on to win two NCAA tournament games to earn a spot in the Final Four.
Harvard recorded its third-straight season with 20-plus wins for the first time in school history and defeated a program-record 13 ranked opponents this season. The Crimson won the first conference championship in school history, taking home the inaugural Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Championship.
