DEDHAM, Mass. – Behind a pair of goals from Mimi Tarrant and Bente van Vlijmen, No. 17 Harvard field hockey earned a 7-3 win over Northeastern on a rainy night at Dedham Field. The Crimson used a fast start to put the game out of reach early on, scoring five first half goals, including four in the first 10:26 of the contest.
Harvard goalkeeper Olivia Startup (3-0) earned her third win of the season, making several key second half stops after Northeastern cut the lead to 6-3 midway through the second half. Tarrant's second goal of the game sealed it with 9:36 to play, as she took a feed from Kathleen Young and scored from in close with 9:36 to go.
Bente van Vlijmen got the Crimson going, scoring from straight away off a penalty corner just 2:39 into the game.
Minutes later, Hannah Wellington scored from a similar spot to put the Crimson ahead 2-0 just over four minutes later at the 29:27 mark.
The flurry continued for Harvard when Maddie Earle put in a rebound from just outside the cage at 26:43. Then Kathleen Young capped off the run, taking pass across the circle from Emily Ott and beating the Northeastern goaltender at 24:34.
Tarrant added her first goal of the game for Harvard late in the half, making a great run to evade three Huskies defenders and scoring from 10 yards out to make it 5-1 after 35 minutes of play.

- Bente van Vlijmen recorded her third career multi-goal game. Her career high for goals in a game is three (Oct. 29, 2016, at Dartmouth).
- Harvard last scored seven or more goals in a game on Oct. 4, 2003 (W, 7-0 vs. Providence)
Game Notes:
- Harvard earned its most lopsided win over Northeastern in 44 games against the Huskies, a series that dates back to 1974.
- Harvard has never lost at Dedham Field, winning all three games at Northeastern since the facility was opened in 2013.
- The Crimson improved to 3-1 in road contests this season.
