PROVIDENCE, R.I. – First-year guard Noah Kirkwood neared a triple-double, but Harvard men's basketball was outlasted by Brown, 88-79, on Friday night at the PIzzitola Sports Center. Harvard falls to 13-9 on the season, with a 6-3 second-place Ivy mark, while Brown improves to 16-9 with a 4-5 Ivy League record.

Kirkwood tallied career highs across the board, finishing with 28 points on 11-for-18 shooting to go with nine rebounds and seven assists. Junior Bryce Aiken tallied 17 points and six assists, while classmate Chris Lewis scored nine points. First-year Kale Catchings sparked the squad with a career-best seven points off the bench.

Following a back-and-forth battle to start the game, the Bears jumped out to a 21-12 lead with eight minutes to go in the first half. The Crimson quickly cut that lead to three after a finish at the rim by Aiken, but Brown closed the half well to take a 10-point advantage into the intermission, 37-37.

Kirkwood scored 23 of his 28 points in the second half, including five made triples. The Ottawa, Ontario native quickly helped Harvard slash the Brown lead to four with a pair of treys from the corner, while an inside move from Lewis made it a two-point game at the 16-minute mark. The Bears continued to respond to each Harvard push, which cut the deficit to three points inside a minute after Kirkwood tiptoed to the rim. The ensuing possession ended without a field goal, and Brown connected at the free throw line to seal the result.
