CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Five members of the Harvard field hockey team were named to the 2018 Zag Field Hockey / NFHCA Division 1 Scholars of Distinction list.
First year Elizabeth Denehy, senior Emily Duarte, first-year Olivia Hoover, junior Olivia Ostrover, and sophomore Mimi Tarrant all were named Scholars of Distinction.
The Division I Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2018-19 academic year.
Earlier this week, the field hockey team was recognized as one of the top academic teams in the nation. Harvard had the No. 3 team GPA (3.64) in the nation among all Division I field hockey programs. Harvard is one of 76 Division programs that earned the 2018 Zag Field Hockey / NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award for having a team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of the 2018-19 academic year.
