Box Score FORT MYERS, Fla.- Harvard softball dropped its final game, 3-1, to Florida Gulf Coast on the final day at the FGCU Invitational.
After allowing one run in the first, sophomore Megan Welsh homered to left field to even the score at 1-1.
A couple of late inning runs in the sixth lifted the Eagles over the Crimson by a final of 3-1.
Harvard Highlights
- Sophomore Megan Welsh hit the first home run of the season for the Crimson to tie the game in the top of the second inning at 1-1.
- Welsh added two more hits to lead the Crimson on the day and bring her season total to five.
- Pitchers Grace Krantz, Alissa Hiener and Brianna Jewett combined to hold Florida Gulf Coast to one run through five innings of work.
- Harvard went 1-4 to finish its first weekend of play in the 2020 season.
