No. 3 Sailing Takes Home Wood Trophy for the Second-Straight Season

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -  The No. 3 Harvard co-ed sailing team collected its first victory of the spring season, winning the Wood Trophy on the Charles River. The regatta was the first home contest of the season and marked the second-straight year the team placed first in the event.

The group faced challenging winds on the first day of the regatta, with the round robins enduring winds anywhere between 10-18 knots throughout the day. The second day brought a consistent, ideal breeze coming in from the west/northwest with a velocity of 5-12 knots.

The Crimson went 10-4 in the first two rounds, only suffering losses from Tufts, Rhode Island and Vermont. Moving onto the final four, Harvard swept the field to go 3-0. The team got revenge on two of its losses from the round robins, beating Tufts, Rhode Island and MIT in the final gold medal round.
