What to Know
  • Harvard women's hockey boasts a roster of 32 student-athletes for the 2021-22 campaign.
  • Entering the 2021-22 season, the program is four wins away from 700 victories since gaining varsity status in 1978-79. Should the team tally four wins, it'd be just the fourth women's program (first in ECAC Hockey) to hit the mark.
  • Prior to the start of the 2021-22 season, Katey Stone is six victories away from her 500th career win – She would be the first female coach and the fourth coach of a women's program to achieve the mark. Just 24 coaches across all NCAA men's and women's programs have hit the milestone with a single team.
  • The Crimson returns 18 members of the 2019-20 squad that propelled the team to its first ECAC Hockey semifinal in five years.
  • The roster also includes all five top-scorers from the 2019-20 campaign.
  • Harvard will welcome 14 newcomers after missing the 2020-21 season due to COVID-19.

At the Helm
Katey Stone, The Landry Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's Ice Hockey, is in her 27th year at the helm of the women's hockey program. Prior to the 2021-22 season, Stone compiled a 494-253-54 record. During Summer 2021, Stone was named the recipient of USA Hockey's Distinguished Achievement Award, recognizing a U.S. citizen who has made hockey his or her profession, and has made outstanding contributions, on or off the ice, to the sport in America. No stranger to trailblazing in the sport, Stone was the first woman to be recognized for the award. Through her tenure at Harvard, Stone has coached six Patty Kazmaier Award winners, 24 All America selections, 13 Olympians and 11 NWHL/CWHL Draft picks. Her teams have won 11 Beanpot championships, seven ECAC Tournament titles and have advanced to the NCAA Tournament 11 times.
