COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Harvard men's swimming and diving team earned Scholar All-America Team honors for the 2021 spring semester, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) recently announced.
In an unprecedented classroom environment, the squad held the top GPA among men's Division I programs for the entire academic year, earning a team GPA of 3.79 this spring. The women's team also topped its field, raking in a 3.90 team GPA, the highest of any men's or women's Division I program.
"Coaches Tyrrell and Wriede Morawski did an exceptional job despite the absence of an Ivy League season," stated CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart. "These are some of the best ambassadors of Harvard and Athletic Director McDermott, President Bacow and Dr. Tom Dingman can and should be proud of these 37 men and women."
To be recognized by the CSCAA, programs were required to post a GPA of 3.00 or higher during the spring semester of 2021. In total, 721 programs from 426 institutions earned the honor.
