CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's swimming and diving will send 13 current, former and future student-athletes to compete in U.S. and International Olympic qualifying events in advance of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The Crimson will be represented by 10 members at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming, running in two waves from June 4-20, 2021. Wave I will take place June 4-7, 2021 and Wave II from June 13-20, 2021 at the CHI Health Center Omaha in Omaha, Neb.
Returners and incoming first-years
Sophia Zhang (100 breaststroke), Mandy Brenner (100 free), Erin Cavanaugh (400 IM), Abby Carr (100 fly) and
Kate Hazlett (50 free) will be in action during the U.S. Olympic Trials Wave I on June 4-6, looking to punch their ticket to the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. During Wave II from June 13-20,
Miki Dahlke '20 (50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 100 fly),
Jaycee Yegher (100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke), Addie Rose Bullock (100 back, 100 fly) and
Felicia Pasadyn (200 IM, 400 IM, 200 backstroke, 100 backstroke, 200 free) will compete to seek a spot on the U.S. team.
Additionally, incoming first-year Remi Edvalson will participate in the U.S. Diving Olympic Trials from June 6-13.
On the international stage, three student-athletes have previously competed at their respective national Olympic qualifying events. Incoming first-year Aleksandra Denisenko captured a second-place finish in the 200 IM (2:13.97) at the Russian Olympic Trials earlier in April, while
Georgina Milne placed third in the 3-meter dive during the South African Olympic Trials.
Olympic hopeful
Elizabeth Miclau awaits her fate for a spot on Puerto Rico's national team after competing in the World Cup in Tokyo and placing 14th on synchronized 3M and 26th on platform.
The Tokyo 2020 Olympics are scheduled to begin on July 23, 2021 and run through August 8, 2021.
