CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 14 Harvard field hockey (5-1, 0-0 Ivy) opens up Ivy League play this weekend with a road contest at Columbia (6-0, 0-0 Ivy) on Friday (Sept. 24). The Crimson will then host Bucknell on Sunday (Sept. 26) at 1 p.m. Both games will air on ESPN+.
The Crimson is seeking its third Ivy title in the last five seasons and has recorded a 26-2 record in league play since the start of the 2016 season.
This past weekend, Harvard won its opener 4-0 against Northeastern on Friday night, as sophomore
Emily Berlinghof had a goal and an assist, and junior goalkeeper
Ellie Shahbo made four saves for the shutout victory. On Sunday, the Crimson suffered its first setback despite recording its fifth straight shutout, as 16
th-ranked UConn edged Harvard 2-1 in a penalty shootout.

- Junior goalkeeper Ellie Shahbo is off to a fantastic start in her first four games, stopping all 16 shots she has faced to record four straight shutouts. She leads the nation a perfect save percentage (1.000) and goals-against average (0.00). Shahbo has already surpassed her previous season high for shutouts (3, 2018).
- In six games, Harvard is No. 1 in the nation with a team 0.15 goals-against average and .957 save percentage.
- Harvard and Northeastern will meet for the 46th time in field hockey, with Northeastern holding a 28-17 advantage in the series. The Crimson has won three of the last four meetings, including a 2-0 win on Sept. 14, 2018 at Berylson Field the last time the two teams met.
- Harvard and Columbia last met in the final game of the 2019 season, with the Crimson earning a 2-1 win over the Lions in New York on Nov. 9, 2019. Harvard has won seven straight games in the series and owns a 17-6 record overall against Columbia.
