Hodge Earns NWPC Defensive Player of the Week After 13 Save Performance

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - No. 15 Harvard men's water polo junior goalie Noah Hodge has earned NWPC Defensive Player of the Week, the Northeast Water Polo Conference announced today, Sept. 29.

A native of San Juan Capistrano, California, Hodge tallied 13 saves on 18 shots in Harvard's 14-5 victory over Air Force this past weekend. The performance set a season-high .722 SV% for a Crimson goalie this season. Hodge recorded at least three saves in every period of the game, including a five-meter penalty shot save and two breakaway saves in the third quarter. The five goals allowed tied a season-low for the Crimson. This is the second week this season that Hodge has earned defensive player of the week and tenth time in his career.

Harvard (9-1) begins NWPC conference play next weekend with a trio of road games. The Crimson will play a doubleheader on Saturday, Oct. 2, taking on No. 9 Princeton (12-2) at 10:00 a.m. before a 6:00 p.m. start against St. Francis Brooklyn (7-3). Harvard will finish the weekend at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3 when they take on Iona College (3-5).
