IRVINE, Calif. – The Harvard men's volleyball team fell to No. 15 UC Irvine 3-0 last night in its first competition in 683 days.
The Crimson didn't go down without a fight, posting at least 19 points in each of the three sets for a tally of 25-19, 25-22 and 25-21.
Ethan Smith led the way for Harvard with nine kills, while
Kade McGovern recorded eight of his own. Senior captain
Jason Shen posted five digs to open the season.
First-year
James Bardin tallied a team-high 26 assists in his debut with the Crimson, while also adding five digs.
