CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -Â The Harvard men's and women's cross country teams are sending athletes to compete in two meets this Friday, Oct. 14: The Nuttycombe Invite in Madison, Wis. and the IC4A/ECAC Championships in New York City, N.Y. The Nuttycombe Invite will be streamed on Runnerspace.
The IC4A/ECAC Championships will get started at 11:00 a.m. with the ECAC Women's championship 6k. The IC4A Men's Championship 8k will follow at 11:45 a.m. An awards ceremony will follow the conclusion of both races.
The University of Wisconsin will host the Nuttycombe Invitational starting at 1:20 p.m. with the women's 6k race, followed by the men's 8k race at 2:00 p.m. The race is expected to be competitive with many of the top-25 ranked NCAA cross country programs traveling to compete in Madison.
What To Know
- Both Harvard teams raced at the Nuttycombe Invite in 2021. The women's team finished 25th in the 6k race, lead by
Maia Ramsden in 59th and
Iz Sagar in 65th. The men's team finished 13th in the 8k race. Returning runners
Graham Blanks and
Acer Iverson finished 28th and 33rd, respectively.
- The Crimson last competed in the Coast to Coast Battle in Beantown and Cowboy Jamboree on Sept. 23 and 24. The women's team placed 12th and the men's team placed 13th at the Cowboy Jamboree, with Ramsden and Iverson earning top-ten finishes in seventh and sixth in the women's 6k and men's 8k.
- The Harvard men's team is ranked 20th by the USTFCCA as of Tuesday, Oct. 4. After two weekends off competition the teams hope to move up in the rankings after this weekend's competition. Â
