Harvard Women's Fencing Heads to Chestnut Hill for Beanpot

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard fencing will head up the road to Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts on Wednesday, Nov. 16, to compete in the annual Beanpot tournament. The Crimson will be seeking to win their 15th Beanpot in a row. 
 
Harvard will begin competition against MIT at 6:30 PM, then will go up against Brandeis at 7:20 PM and finally will take on Boston College at 8:10 PM in a round-robin style tournament.
 

What to Know

  • Harvard women's fencing has won 14 Beanpot's in a row entering Wednesday's tournament.
  • Last year in the Beanpot, Harvard won all three matches, defeating Boston College 22-5, Brandeis 21-6, and MIT 19-8.
  • Harvard won all of their eight matches at the Air Force Western Invitational which was their first competition of the year.
  • Sophomore Lauren Scruggs (foil) went a perfect 20-0 in bouts over eight matches at Air Force.
  • Over the whole tournament at Air Force, Harvard's foil squad went an incredible 63-9.
