CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Harvard women's fencing won their 15^th Beanpot in a row on Wednesday, Nov. 16, competing against Brandeis, MIT, and Boston College hosted by Boston College. The Crimson went 3-0 on the day, remaining undefeated on the season at 11-0.
 
The Crimson began the Beanpot tournament going up against Brandeis University. The Crimson won decisively, 25-2. The Crimson's sabre squad led the way, going 9-0 after Zoe Kim, Elizabeth Tartakovsky, and Chloe Williams each won all three of their matchups. Both the foil and epee squads also had impressive performances, each going 8-1.
 
Harvard's next matchup was against the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The Crimson won this matchup 22-5 which would be their closest match of the day. This time, Harvard's foil squad led the charge. Propelled by Ever Marinelli's 3-0 performance, the foil squad went 8-1 in their matchup.  
 
In their third and final match of the day, Harvard stamped their dominate performance on the day with a 24-3 win against the host, Boston College. Both the sabre and epee squads went 9-0 in their matchups, securing that the Beanpot would be returning to Cambridge for the 15^th year in a row.
 

What to Know

 

• Harvard has now won 15 Beanpot tournaments in a row.
• Harvard had one of their most dominate days ever, only allowing their opponents to have a combined 10 points over three games.
• Their 25-2 win over Brandeis is their largest victory since they defeated MIT 25-2 in February 2019.
• The Crimson's three wins on Wednesday mean they are now 11-0 on the season.
• Epee's Emily Vermeule, sabre's Zoe Kim, and sabre's Elizabeth Tarakovsky each won all nine of their bouts on the day to lead the Crimson
• Foil's Lauren Scruggs has yet to lose a bout this season, currently 23-0
