CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Harvard women's fencing returns to action in Fairfield, Connecticut for the Sacred Heart Invitational on Sunday, Dec. 4.
The Crimson will kick off the event against Vassar College at 10:00 AM. Next, they will compete against Penn State University at 11:00 AM before facing the hosts, Sacred Heart University at 12:00 PM. At 2:00 PM, the Crimson will play Temple University. They will then wrap up the invitational against New York University at 3:00 PM.
What to Know for Women's Fencing
- Harvard women's fencing is currently undefeated at 11-0, their best start to season in program history.
- Sophomore Lauren Scruggs was recently named the number 1 ranked junior women's foil fencer in the world for the 2021-2022 season.
- Scruggs has yet to lose a bout this year, currently 23-0.
- Last year at the Sacred Heart Invitational, the Crimson went a perfect 5-0.
- In their last tournament, competing in the Beanpot hosted by Boston College, the Crimson went 3-0, winning their 15th Beanpot in a row.
