CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After its most successful regular season in recent memory, No. 6/6 Harvard (21-7-1, 16-5-1 ECAC Hockey) will look to keep things rolling in postseason play, as the Crimson prepares to host Princeton (11-13-5, 9-20-3 in the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals this Friday (Feb. 25) through Sunday (Feb. 27) at Bright-Landry Hockey Center.
The two teams will square off in a best-of-three series, with Sunday's game to be held if necessary. Friday's contest will begin at 6 p.m. followed by 3 p.m. starts on both Saturday and Sunday. All games can be seen on ESPN + as well as Stretch Internet internationally.
After finishing the regular season atop the conference standings for the first time since 2015, Harvard is the No. 1 seed in the playoff bracket. Princeton, who enters at the No. 8 seed, was victorious in its last conference tournament appearance. The Tigers defeated Cornell in the 2019-20 tournament finals, 3-2 in overtime. Princeton is making its eighth straight appearance in the conference playoffs, while Harvard is in the field for a fourth-consecutive season.

What to Know
- Harvard swept Princeton in the regular season series, twice shutting out the Tigers.
- The series marks the second consecutive season Harvard has hosted the quarterfinal round of the ECAC Hockey playoffs. Back in 2019-20, the Crimson defeated Yale in three games, advancing to the semifinals on a game winning goal by Becca Gilmore in the third overtime session of game three.
- Harvard is 50-29 in the ECAC Tournament since the event began in 1985. The Crimson has won six ECAC Tournament Championships.
- The Crimson is 6-0 against Princeton in the ECAC Hockey Tournament all-time, the last meeting between the programs coming during the 2012 quarterfinals. Overall, Harvard owns a 50-35-6 mark vs. the Tigers.
- Three Crimson were featured in ECAC Hockey's major award nominees this past week. Captain Emma Buckles was announced as a finalist for Best Defensemen, junior Kristin Della Rovere for Best Forward and The Landry Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's Ice Hockey, Katey Stone, for Coach of the Year.
- Princeton and Harvard rank No. 1 and No. 2 in the country, respectively in Team Faceoff Win Percentage. The Tigers come in at .591 with the Crimson right behind at .587. Princeton's Sharon Frankel leads all of Division I with 556 faceoff wins for the season.
- Harvard senior Brooke Jovanovich has been a Tiger tamer this season, scoring a goal in each of the Crimson's two meetings with Princeton. Jovanovich, who has four goals on the year, has scored half of that total against the Tigers.
- Della Rovere needs just one more point to reach 100 for her Harvard career. The junior would become the 26th player in program history to reach the threshold.
- Princeton plays primarily in low-scoring affairs. The Tigers are averaging 1.7. goals per game, while conceding only 1.9 goals on average. The team's penalty-kill comes in at just 80 percent for the season.
- Princeton is led by junior Maggie Conners who has a team high 19 points and 12 goals, as well as senior netminder Rachel McQuigge, who has a .938 save percentage and 1.85 GAA.

Katey Stone, The Landry Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's Ice Hockey, is in her 27th year at the helm of the women's hockey program. Prior to the 2021-22 season, Stone compiled a 494-253-54 record. During Summer 2021, Stone was named the recipient of USA Hockey's Distinguished Achievement Award, recognizing a U.S. citizen who has made hockey his or her profession, and has made outstanding contributions, on or off the ice, to the sport in America. No stranger to trailblazing in the sport, Stone was the first woman to be recognized for the award. Through her tenure at Harvard, Stone has coached six Patty Kazmaier Award winners, 24 All America selections, 13 Olympians and 11 NWHL/CWHL Draft picks. Her teams have won 11 Beanpot championships, seven ECAC Tournament titles and have advanced to the NCAA Tournament 11 times.
