Women’s Basketball Prepares for Brown and Yale at Home

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sporting a three-game win streak, the Harvard women's basketball team will host Brown and Yale this weekend, Feb. 4-5. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. on Friday against the Bears and 5 p.m. on Saturday against the Bulldogs. Both contests will be broadcast on ESPN+, while Saturday's will also air on NESN.

What to Know
- Harvard improved to 4-3 in conference action and 10-9 overall after picking up a thrilling 70-63 comeback win at Penn last weekend. The Crimson is currently on a three-game win streak heading into this weekend's set of games.
- Four Crimson players recorded double-digit points against Penn last Saturday. Junior McKenzie Forbes led the Crimson offensively with 18 points, while juniors Annie Stritzel (12) and Maggie McCarthy (11), along with sophomore Lola Mullaney (11), reached double figures as well. First-year Harmoni Turner and senior Tess Sussman followed closely behind with nine points. Turner and Sussman nearly notched double-doubles, leading the defensive end with 11 and 10 rebounds, respectively.
- The Crimson has been hot from the floor this season, putting up 70 or more points in 12 games. Posting six games with 80+ points, Harvard ranks first in the Ivy League in scoring with 72.2 points per game and second in field goals with a .404 percentage.
- Harvard ranks 11th in the nation in three-point field goals made per game with 9.5 and places 14th with 180 total. The Crimson ranks first in the Ivy League in three-point percentage with .347. Tallying double-digit triples in nine games, Harvard registered a season-high 17 against Merrimack in November.
- Five Crimson players rank in the top-25 in scoring in the Ivy League. Harmoni Turner leads the way in third with 14.9 points per game, followed by Lola Mullaney (13.6 p/g, eighth), McKenzie Forbes (12.8 p/g, 10th), Tess Sussman (8.6 p/g, 19th) and Maggie McCarthy (8.5 p/g, 21st).
- The Crimson currently sports a 5-1 home record within the friendly confines of Lavietes Pavilion. Dominating on its own hardwood, Harvard has surpassed 70 points in each of its home court victories this season.
- Harvard leads Brown in its all-time series, 57-34, and has won each of its last 12 match ups. The Crimson previously defeated the Bears, 89-54, earlier this season. The Crimson has bested Yale in its all-time series as well, leading the Bulldogs 53-34 in program history. Harvard fell to the Bulldogs on the road, 80-73, previously in January.
 
Leading the Way
The Friends of Harvard Women's Basketball Head Coach Kathy Delaney-Smith returns for her 40th season at the helm of the program. The winningest coach in Ivy League basketball history with 617 career victories, Delaney-Smith passed former Princeton head coach Pete Carril (514) for most wins by an Ancient Eight coach on either the men's or women's side during the 2013-14 season. Delaney-Smith owns a 617-421 overall record with a 360-159 mark in Ivy League play, including 12 20-win seasons, 11 Ivy titles and 15 postseason appearances.
