Women’s Tennis Travels to Florida for Four-Match Stretch

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's tennis team (5-5) will travel to Orlando, Fla., for a four-match stretch from March 15-19. All matches will be played at the USTA National Campus.

The Crimson will be in the gauntlet of its 2022 schedule during its trip south, starting with a double-header on Tuesday, March 15.

At 8 a.m., the Crimson will take on East Tennessee State (8-6, 2-0 SOCON). The Bucs are in the midst of a six-match win streak and have not suffered defeat in just over a month. This is the first meeting between the two programs.

At 3 p.m., Harvard will go head-to-head with Navy (13-1), which is also on a six-match win streak, with just over a month of winning play as well. The two programs are meeting for the first time.

After a day off, the Crimson will take the court against Central Florida (7-6) at 5 p.m., on Thursday, March 18. The Golden Knights are coming off a loss to No. 5 Texas a week ago, but bested No. 18 Michigan and No. 17 Baylor on the same weekend. This will be the third meeting between the two schools and the first since 2012, with each team earning a win.

Closing out the Florida trip on Friday March 19 at 1 p.m., the Crimson will take on No. 69 Brigham Young (6-7, 0-1 WCC). The Cougars have won their last two contests, including wins over Utah State and Grand Canyon. Harvard won the only two meetings between the schools in 1983 and 1984, both by a 6-3 margin.
