No. 18 Men’s Swimming and Diving Qualifies Four for NCAA Zone Diving Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 18 Harvard men's swimming and diving has qualified four student-athletes for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships at the U.S. Naval Academy's Lejeune Hall in Annapolis, Md., from March 7-9.
 
The Crimson's qualifiers include all four of the team's divers – sophomore Luke Foster, sophomore Nick Nocita, senior Hal Watts, and first-year Adam Wesson.
 
Foster, Watts, and Wesson all qualified for the 1-meter and 3-meter events while Nocita qualified for the 3-meter event.
 
Men's 3-meter competition will begin on Monday, March 7 at noon prior to 1-meter competition on Tuesday, March 8 at noon. Men's platform competition is scheduled for Wednesday, March 9 at 2:00 p.m.
 
All springboard diving events will consist of a preliminary round of six dives. The top 18
finishers from the preliminary round will advance to the final round and will perform a second list of six dives. Scores on all dives performed by each of the divers in the prelims and the finals shall be used to determine finals placing.
 
The top five female and top four male divers from each event at their respective zone diving championship will be eligible to compete at the NCAA Championships.
 
At the 2022 Ivy League Championships, Wesson (326.35) and Foster (323.15) placed first and third respectively in the 1-meter event. In the 3-meter event, Foster led the Crimson with a 272.20 for eighth place in the A final.
 
Season highs for the group in 1-meter include Foster (364.90), Wesson (355.58), and Watts (347.85). The NCAA standard for the event is 300.
 
Season highs for the group in 3-meter include Wesson (388.93), Foster (353.70), Watts (342.68), and Nocita (337.05). The NCAA standard in the event is 320.
