Women’s Tennis Opens Ivy League Play with Trip to Dartmouth

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's tennis team (9-7, 0-0 Ivy League) will open conference play this weekend when it travels to Hanover, N.H., for a matchup with the Big Green of Dartmouth. The match will be broadcast on ESPN+.

The Crimson has not played an Ivy League contest since April 21, 2019, a span of 1,077 days.

Harvard took on Dartmouth (6-7, 0-0 Ivy League) in the first round of the ECAC Championships at Cornell University in February, resulting in a 5-0 Crimson win.

In the all-time series, Harvard holds a 35-12 advantage dating back to the first meeting in 1976 and has won four consecutive matchups.

Harvard enters the contest on a three-match win streak and winners of four out of its last five. The Crimson bested UMass (4-3) and Hofstra (7-0) last weekend to head into league play on the right foot.

Dartmouth enters the contest after a trip to California in which the Big Green posted a 1-3 record against the competition out west.

The Crimson was 5-2 the last time through the full Ivy League slate in 2019, and last won the title in 2017 as tri-champions. The Crimson is looking to claim its first outright championship since 2006.
