CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard track and field continues spring competition this weekend at two meets. One group will head to the War Eagle Invitational (Apr. 15-16) at Auburn University in Alabama, while another will stay local, competing at the UMass Outdoor Invitational on Saturday.
At the War Eagle Invitational, competition will begin with field events (hammer throw, long jump and javelin) on Friday afternoon, followed by select distance competition, including the 3000m steeplechase.
On Saturday, field events will begin at 11 a.m., and running events will start at 12 p.m.
Back in Massachusetts, in Amherst at the UMass Outdoor Invitational, field events will begin on Saturday at 11 a.m., with running events starting at noon.

What to Know
- Harvard extended its lead the all-time Harvard-Yale dual meet on both the men's (66-49-1) and women's (29-12) side, with several solid performances in the first Harvard-Yale event since 2019.
- First-year
Eden Finkelstein won the women's long jump on her first effort of the day, clearing 19'7 ½" (5.98m), tied for sixth all time in school history. Finkelstein also won the 200 meters in 24.08.
- Harvard swept the 100 meters on both the men's and women's side, as
DeMarkes Stradford won in 10.48 and
Tina Martin also took the top spot in the event in 11.65.
- Highlighting distance performers, in the 800 meters,
Anna Juul ran a personal best on the women's side, winning the event in 2:09.13. Additionally,
Matthew Pereira ran the fourth fastest 5,000 meters in school history, winning the event in 13:50.17.
- At the Duke Invitational, first-year
Izzy Goudros placed second in her heptathlon debut at the Duke Invitational with 5444 points, which is tied for the second highest total in program history in the event. Junior
John Minicus also had a career day in the decathlon, finishing third overall with 6,532 points, the most he has ever recorded, and the third highest total in program history.
