CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's tennis team (10-7, 1-0 Ivy League) is getting into the heart of its Ivy League schedule with two matches at home this weekend against No. 56 Columbia and Cornell. The matches are set to be played outside at the Beren Tennis Center in Cambridge, Mass.
The Crimson comes into the weekend following a 4-0 win over Dartmouth in its Ivy League opener a week ago. Harvard has won four consecutive matches.
On Saturday, April 9, at 1 p.m., the Crimson will host the Lions (10-8, 0-1 Ivy League). Columbia has dropped its last five matchups leading into the weekend.
In the all-time series, Harvard holds a 28-8 advantage since the first meeting in 1985-86. The two schools have split the last four matchups.
The following day at 1 p.m., Harvard will welcome Cornell (5-8, 1-0 Ivy League) for another league match. The Big Red have won five of six matches after a 0-7 start to the season.
Since the first meeting in 1983, Harvard has a 40-5 record against Cornell, including a 26-match win streak from 1983-2006.
