Maguire is a 2020 graduate of the University of Maryland where she was a team captain her senior season in 2019. She also brings international experience as a member of the USA National Team in 2020-21.

As a student-athlete, Maguire earned a NFHCA All-American selection in 2019 and a pair of NFHCA All-Mid-Atlantic region selections. She had a team-high 34 points with 12 goals and 10 assists as a senior to help the Terrapins clinch the Big Ten regular-season title. Maryland reached the NCAA Tournament all four of Maguire's years, including two appearances in the National Championship.
