CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard track and field team had 18 individuals qualify for the NCAA East Preliminary Meet in Bloomington, Ind. (May 25-28), the NCAA announced today.
Harvard will have two men's athletes entered in multiple individual events, including sophomore
Acer Iverson (5000m, 10000m) and senior
Matthew Pereira (5000m, 10000m). The additional men's participants will be first-year
Graham Blanks (5000m), junior
Chet Ellis (high jump), first-year
Daniel Falode (triple jump), first-year
Kenneth Ikeji (hammer throw), junior
Alexander Kolesnikoff (shot put), senior
David Melville (10000m), junior
Simon Park (pole vault) and senior
Sam Welsh (discus throw).
On the women's side, first-year
Victoria Bossong (400m), first-year
Isabelle Goldstein (3000m steeplechase), first-year
Izzy Goudros (long jump), senior
Judy Pendergast (5000m), sophomore
Maia Ramsden (1500m), first-year
Anastasia Retsa (pole vault), junior
Isabell Sagar (10000m), and junior
Estel Valeanu (discus throw) will represent Harvard.
To qualify for one of two NCAA regional meets (East and West), an athlete must be ranked in the top 48 of their respective event in their region. Twelve out of the 48 from the East and 12 out of the 48 from the West will advance to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon (June 8-11).
