Track and Field Begins Competition at NCAA East Meet Tomorrow

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Harvard track and field begins competition at the NCAA East Preliminary Meet hosted by Indiana University tomorrow (Wednesday, May 25). Competition will run through Saturday, May 28 and will take place at Haugh Track & Field.

Harvard had a successful spring campaign, qualifying 18 student-athletes in 16 events, the most student-athletes the Crimson has sent to the NCAA East Regional meet since 2014. Nine school records fell during the year, with 10 individuals winning Ivy Outdoor Heps titles, and 23 earning All-Ivy recognition.

At the NCAA East meet, Harvard will have two men's athletes entered in multiple individual events, including sophomore Acer Iverson (5000m, 10000m) and senior Matthew Pereira (5000m, 10000m). The additional men's participants will be first-year Graham Blanks (5000m), junior Chet Ellis (high jump), first-year Daniel Falode (triple jump), first-year Kenneth Ikeji (hammer throw), junior Alexander Kolesnikoff (shot put), senior David Melville (10000m), junior Simon Park (pole vault) and senior Sam Welsh (discus throw).

On the women's side, first-year Victoria Bossong (400m), first-year Isabelle Goldstein (3000m steeplechase), first-year Izzy Goudros (long jump), senior Judy Pendergast (5000m), sophomore Maia Ramsden (1500m), first-year Anastasia Retsa (pole vault), junior Isabell Sagar (10000m), and junior Estel Valeanu (discus throw) will represent Harvard.
