Matthew Pereira (5000 meters) all qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Day 3 of the NCAA East Preliminary Meet at Indiana University.
Welsh returns to the national championship meet for the second time, as he placed sixth in the discus throw on his second effort of the day (57.18m, 187-7) to clinch a spot in Eugene.
Falode recorded his Harvard best (wind legal) in the triple jump on his final jump of the day (15.73m, 51-7¼), which is the third best mark in program history. Tied for 12
th, he beat out Clemson's Andre Wright as Falode's second best jump (15.41m, 50-6¾) was better than Wright's (15.35m, 50-4½).
Pereira recorded his personal best in the 5000 meters, the third fastest time of the night, placing third in the opening heat (13:38.99). That time is second best all-time at Harvard in the 5k. Iverson finished second in the next heat, joining his teammate in a Eugene 5k-10k double with a time of 13:42.30.
