CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard softball team has announced its schedule for the Fall 2022 campaign. The season will consist of three weekends of play, starting and ending at home.
The Harvard softball team is set to make its first appearance of 2022-23 on Saturday, Sept. 24, when Harvard hosts Boston University for a double header with games at 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. The Terriers are coming off a 2022 season in which they compiled a 40-17 record, which included two wins over the Crimson.
The following week, on Sunday, Oct. 2, the Crimson will travel west to Boston College for a 10 a.m. game against the Eagles. The last matchup against Boston College took place last Fall, resulting in a 3-2 loss for the Crimson. The team will then face Holy Cross in Chestnut Hill at 12 p.m. This matchup was also cancelled the previous two seasons.
Harvard's fall home finale and the conclusion of the Fall season is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 9, when it plays host to Merrimack for another double header with games at 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. The Warriors are coming off a 14-28 season in 2022, in which two games scheduled to face the Crimson were postponed and never completed.
The team will be led by senior captains Brianna Jewett and Kaitlin Lampson and junior captain Lauren Bobowski. Bobowski finished the Spring 2022 season as an Ivy League First-Team honoree while Lampson landed on the honorable mention list. The trio guided Harvard to 22 wins and a spot in the Ivy League Playoff Series, where it pushed Princeton to three games.
