CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – On day two of the Bruno Classic, No. 16 Harvard men's water polo defeated Austin College 21-4 and No. 13 California Baptist 12-9 Sunday at Blodgett Pool. The Crimson finished the Bruno Classic going 3-1 on the weekend.
First-year
James Rozolis-Hill recorded hat tricks against both Austin College and California Baptist.
Gabe Putnam had another solid game as he netted another two goals while also having two assists and three steals against Austin. Mot Stohart,
Alex James,
Cam Dougherty and
Michael Sonsini all scored two goals in the win against Austin College.
Colin Le and
Rishi Mohan also joined in as they both scored their first goals of the season Sunday morning. Alex Tsotdaze recorded his first hat trick of the season against California Baptist in the afternoon. Between the pipes the Crismon were backstopped by great games by both
Tanner Furtak and
Noah Hodge.
Weekend Highlights
James Rozolis-Hill led the charge offensively as he scored 15 goals over the four games this weekend.
Gabe Putnam was great as well as he netted eight goals over the weekend.
Andrej Basica scored five times and
Noah Hodge was great in goal as he recorded 30 saves over three games.

- Rozolis-Hill opened the scoring two minutes into the game.
- Alex James scored to shrink the Lancer lead to one with a minute and a half left in the first quarter.
- After one quarter of play it was 3-2 California Baptist.
- Goals by Archer and Stothart tied the game at 4-4 heading into the half.
- Owen Hale scored at 4:31 in the third quarter to give the Crimson its first lead since the first quarter.
- Two goals from Rozolis-Hill and one from Owen Hale had the game tied 7-7 heading into the final frame.
- The Crimson scored four goals in three minutes to take an 11-8 lead with goals from Tsotdaze on the penalty shot, Owen Hale and two more from Rozolis-Hill.
- Andrej Basica put the game away by scoring on a penalty shot to make it 12-8 late in the fourth quarter.
- The Crimson outscored Califronia Baptist 5-2 in the fourth quarter on the way to the victory.
Next Up
The Crimson travels to Davis, California for the Aggie Round Up on Sept. 17 and 18. Harvard opens the tournament on Saturday against UCLA at 5:15 p.m. ET (2:15 p.m. PT), and Occidental College at 10:15 p.m. ET (7:15 p.m. PT). The team concludes their trip to California on Sunday with games against the University of the Pacific at 1:30 p.m. ET (10:30 a.m. PT) and UC Irvine at 4:00 p.m. (1:00 p.m. PT).
