CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's swimming and diving team is set to welcome Yale and Princeton to Blodgett Pool for the annual H-Y-P meet. The action begins on Saturday at 6 p.m. ET with Sunday's start time slated for noon ET. Both days will air live on ESPN+.
The two-day meet will feature the top three teams in the Ivy League, including the undefeated Crimson (6-0; 5-0 Ivy) and Yale Bulldogs (8-0; 6-0 Ivy). Princeton, meanwhile, heads to Cambridge with a 7-2 overall mark (3-2 Ivy) and winners of four straight.
What to Know
- The Crimson returned to action last Saturday for the first time since Dec. 3, and defeated Penn on the road, 187-113. It was Harvard's first head-to-head matchup since earning a 191-106 decision over Columbia on Nov. 18.
- Harvard is making its final appearance at Blodgett Pool in 2022-23, with the meet serving as the final home dates for its seven seniors – Liz Boyer, Darlene Fung, Evie Geier, Alison Hu, Marcella Ruppert-Gomez, Samantha Shelton and Athena Ye.
- The Crimson is looking for its first sweep of the H-Y-P meet since 2013-14, when the event was held at Yale. Last season, Harvard dropped decisions to Yale and Princeton, but responded by capturing the program's 15th Ivy League championship a few weeks later at Blodgett Pool.
- Harvard will look to stop two-meet skid against Princeton, having last defeated the Tigers in 2019. The Crimson trails the all-time series, 14-27-1.
- In its series vs. Yale, Harvard leads 27-18, but has dropped six consecutive head-to-head matchups. The Crimson will be in search of its first regular-season victory over the Bulldogs since 2015.
