CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's fencing will play host to its first home match of the season when New York University visits Malkin Athletic Center on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m. The contest will air live on ESPN+.
The Crimson is 27-0 all-time against the Violets. In its most recent outing against the Violets, Harvard earned a 15-12 victory at the Sacred Heart Invitational earlier this season.
Chloe Williams (sabre),
Lauren Scruggs (foil) and
Annora Lee (epee) each went 3-0 in their bouts. Lee, normally a foilist, competed off-weapon in this match.
What to Know
- Harvard has achieved 15 wins so far this season, already matching its win total from last season.
- Scruggs (foil), a sophomore, has yet to lose a bout this season with a record of 36-0.
- Faith Park (epee) is competing at a Senior Grand Prix in Doha, Qatar this weekend.
- Scruggs (foil), Park (epee) and Zoe Kim (sabre), meanwhile, competed in international competitions last weekend, with Scruggs taking home gold at the Junior World Cup team event in Sagreb, Croatia. Park and Kim earned silver and bronze medals, respectively, at Junior World Cup events in Israel and Spain.
