NEW YORK, NY – No. 1 Harvard Men's Squash claimed at least a share of the Ivy League title yesterday but were eager for sole ownership of the crown today. The Crimson downed No. 9 Columbia handedly, 8-1, to grab the conference title for the first time since 2020.
The Crimson came out dominating, grabbing the first four wins on the day and not letting up until the match was complete.
Tate Harms and
Conner Stoltz closed out the match for Harvard by grabbing wins seven and eight. Of the eight wins, the Crimson had five 3-0 sweeps.
Harvard Highlights
- With the win, Marwan Tarek continued to his undefeated season and upped his number of wins to doubles digits. All of Tarek's 10 wins have come at the No. 1 position.
- Ayush Menon won his fourth match at the No. 8 position cruising to a 3-0 victory and outscoring his opponent 11-8, 11-2, 11-5, the least number of points given up by any Crimson player.
- Tate Harms won his first match of the season at the No. 3 position, handling his opponent in four games.
- With the win, the Ivy League title returns to Cambridge for the 44th time and the first since 2020.
- The Crimson have dominated the all-time series over Columbia and extended their lead to 14-1.
