CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's swimming and diving team completed the annual HYP meet on Sunday at Blodgett Pool. The Crimson dropped a 212-88 decision to Princeton and came up short against Yale, 210-90. Harvard finished the dual-meet season with a 6-2 record (5-2 Ivy).
Harvard Highlights
- Sydney Lu was the runner-up in the 100 butterfly, finishing in a season-best 53.73, but the effort was 0.04 seconds shy of hitting the NCAA B-standard.
- Anya Mostek came in second place in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:01.90. The first-year also finished in fourth place in the 200 back (1:58.04).
- Marcella Ruppert-Gomez (4:55.95, 6th), Carlie Rose (4:56.70, 7th), Lizzie Brock (5:01.61, 12th) and Robin Cruz-Abrams (5:04.85; 13th) all set season bests in the 500 freestyle. Samantha Shelton swam in the event for the first time in 2022-23 and produced the ninth-fastest time in the field (4:58.45).
- Kaia Li was Harvard's top finisher in the 200 breast, clocking in at 2:17.98, which was good for fourth place. Her season best is 2:17.05.
- Nina Janmyr was Harvard's top diver on the one-meter board, collecting 275.35 points (4th). Evie Geier was sixth with 266.70 points. The Crimson also had the eighth through 11th place finishers (Katie Laverty – 264.45, Elizabeth Miclau – 263.30, Amy Wotovich – 262.70, Remi Edvalson – 261.25).
