Ithaca, N.Y. – Harvard women's fencing went a perfect 3-0 on day one of the Ivy League Championships on Saturday, Feb. 11, in Ithaca, New York.
Harvard began the tournament facing off against Yale. A dominant performance from the Crimson's epee squad propelled Harvard to a convincing 19-8 victory over the Bulldogs.

Zoe Kim (sabre) and
Emily Vermeule (epee) each went 3-0 in their bouts against Yale.
The Crimson carried their momentum into their second matchup against Brown. The epee squad would lead the way again in this matchup with their second 8-1 victory of the day. Victories from both the foil and sabre squad, as well, gave Harvard a commanding 20-7 win over the Bears.

Following a round three bye, Harvard would fence against the hosts, Cornell.
Zoe Kim (sabre) notched three bout wins in this matchup, leading the sabre squad to a 7-2 win and helping push the Crimson above the edge in a 15-12 victory over the Big Red.
Harvard Highlights
- Emily Vermeule (epee) earned eight wins on the day to lead the Crimson. Three Crimson fencers, Chloe Williams (sabre), Zoe Kim (sabre) and Annora Lee (foil) would notch seven wins.
- With her 7-2 record on the day, Annora Lee sits tied for second for the women's foil individual championship, narrowly behind Princeton's Maia Weintraub.
- Harvard was recently ranked No. 4 in the country in the USFCA Women's Fencing Mid-Season Coaches Poll. Princeton and Columbia, meanwhile, were No. 2 and 3, respectively.
- Elizabeth Tartakovsky earned a bronze medal at the Senior World Cup in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. This is Tartakovsky's first international medal at a senior level and she is also the first American women's saberist to medal in a World Cup since 2020.
- Lauren Scruggs is also competing internationally in Turin, Italy.

The Crimson will fence in three more matches tomorrow in day two of the Ivy League Championships. Harvard will face Princeton at 12:15 p.m., Columbia at 1:45 p.m. and Penn at 3:15 p.m.
